Uses of Lime Mortar
Lime mortar is widely recognised for its durability and breathability, making it an ideal choice for both historic restoration and new builds. It allows moisture to escape while maintaining structural integrity, helping to prevent damage by trapped moisture. Lime mortar is beneficial for pointing, bedding and repointing in brick and stone structures, ensuring long lasting results that will enhance your property.
Types of Lime mortar
Fine Stuff: Suitable for soft, low density masonry. Joints of 4mm or more.
Medium Stuff: Best for soft, low density building materials. Suitable for joints of 10mm or more.
Coarse Stuff: Designed for thicker joints of 12mm or more. Great for bedding and repointing masonry.

We use CE approved Natural Hydraulic Lime (NHL) 2 for softer masonry, NHL 3.5 for general use, and NHL 5 for dense masonry or severe weather. Lime putty meanwhile is used for making high calcium non-hydraulic lime mortar for render and plaster.
How We Work
We provide a transparent breakdown of raking out and repointing services with no deposit required. Our pricing is charged per square metre and includes waste removal. Whilst various factors can affect the total cost, such as the type of project and scaffolding needed, we supply our own towers as part of the quote to ensure a seamless and affordable process.
